Origination & Procurement Officer

About the role

The Origination & Procurement Officer will be based on‑site in Dar es Salaam, supporting Kibo Trading Corporation’s sourcing and distribution activities across regional and international markets. This full‑time position focuses on identifying reliable suppliers, managing procurement processes, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new suppliers in line with company requirements.
• Source products, prepare and process purchase orders, and manage end‑to‑end procurement cycles.
• Participate in contract negotiations, covering terms, pricing, and service levels.
• Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to inform sourcing decisions.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Collaborate with finance, logistics, and operations teams to support business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and company policies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement strategies.

Required profile

• Strong procurement and purchasing experience, including supplier relationship management.
• Ability to prepare, review, and manage purchase orders with high attention to detail.
• Experience negotiating contracts, terms, pricing, and service levels.
• Analytical skills for evaluating bids, market trends, and cost optimisation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or related field.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices, compliance standards, and basic contract law.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with procurement or ERP systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities; collaborative on‑site work style.
• Prior experience in trading, FMCG, or commodity‑related industries is an advantage.
