Operator – Technical Services Plant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Operator to safely run and maintain our Technical Services plants. You will work with a team that values curiosity, passion and continuous improvement, ensuring utilities are delivered reliably to all departments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate equipment and plants in Technical Services areas following VPO standards.
• Optimize plant and process performance where appropriate.
• Provide utilities to departments according to required standards.
• Perform housekeeping tasks, apply 5S principles and follow safe work practices.
• Identify and correct unsafe work practices.
• Support creation and documentation of standard work procedures and quick‑fix routines.
• Carry out quality checks, record results and apply problem‑solving techniques such as 5 WHY.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the Line Manager.
• Participate actively in meetings, PI reviews and team goal sessions.
• Maintain shift logbooks and hand over information to incoming shift teams.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science.
• At least 2 years experience operating utilities plants in a similar industry.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Basic operation of electronic communication devices.
