Operations Supervisor – Oil & Gas Production (6‑month contract)

About the role

The Operations Supervisor will lead field operators to ensure safe and efficient daily production at an oil and gas facility in Dar Es Salaam. This 6‑month contract position supports the Operations Lead and oversees critical activities such as permitting, isolation planning, and unmanned station management.

Key responsibilities

• Direct field operators for safe, efficient production activities.
• Act as Permit Control/Issuer, managing Permit to Work (PTW) compliance.
• Prepare, authorize, and document isolation and inhibition plans.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for safe work execution and equipment handover.
• Provide backup support to the Operations Lead, including decision‑making and incident management.
• Support commissioning, start‑up, and simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) with safe procedures.
• Oversee operations at unmanned facilities, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering, IT, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas plant operations, including commissioning and start‑up.
• Proven leadership ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Permit to Work (PTW) systems expertise.
• Oil & gas plant operations knowledge.
