Officer 2 - Emergency Response

About the role

Provide support to ensure the operation of the Geita Gold Mine is not adversely impacted by emergency issues. Maintain the site emergency response program to a standard compatible with international practice, delivered in a timely and cost‑effective way.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to site emergencies and carry out emergency response activities during shift operations.
• Serve as an active member of the mine rescue team and participate in fire and evacuation drills for site operations and contractors.
• Inspect, maintain and ensure safe storage and readiness of emergency response and rescue equipment.
• Carry out routine inspections and servicing of emergency systems and equipment, including fire extinguishers, hydrants, fire pumps, watercarts, fire detection systems and fire panels.

Required profile

• Certificate in mine rescue operation issued by an accredited authority or recognized institution.
• Minimum three years of experience in mining operations across open‑pit and underground rescue.
