Mechanical & Heat Tracing Commissioning Supervisor

About the role

The Mechanical & Heat Tracing Commissioning Supervisor will lead the commissioning of mechanical equipment and heat‑tracing systems for a major oil‑and‑gas pipeline project in Tanzania and Uganda. Reporting to the project engineering team, you will ensure that all mechanical and heating installations are completed, tested and ready for safe operation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all mechanical commissioning activities on‑site.
• Verify the readiness and performance of heat‑tracing and heating systems.
• Coordinate contractors, local workforce and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support start‑up, functional testing and operational readiness.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, procedures and safety requirements.
• Prepare and review commissioning documentation, punch lists and hand‑over reports.

Required profile

• Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of commissioning experience, preferably in oil & gas EPC projects.
• Proven experience with industrial heating and heat‑tracing systems.
• Ability to lead multicultural teams and work in rotational field conditions.
