Markets Sales – Commercial and E‑Channels

About the role

Join the CIB Markets Sales team to become the preferred point of contact for markets sales derivatives products. You will bridge corporate and commercial interests with the marketplace, developing risk‑management solutions and expanding the bank’s market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of internal and external clients, offering Markets Risk Management Products (RMPs) and related advice.
• Drive product and technology sales, including BARX Africa and investment‑risk management solutions.
• Collaborate closely with CIB and Commercial Relationship Managers to grow the customer base across RBB and corporate segments.
• Achieve delegated volume and profitability targets while adhering to Absa Group policies and credit limits.
• Identify personal knowledge gaps and maintain a self‑development plan.
• Assist the Head of Markets Sales in preparing the annual strategic business plan and provide monthly performance feedback.

Required skills

• Proven trading ability with a solid track record.
• Experience in Global Markets Sales.
• Understanding of balance‑sheet and income‑statement analysis.
• Basic ACI Dealing Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years banking experience, including at least 1 year in a Global Markets environment.
