Market Access Lead – Tanzania (Fixed-Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a senior Market Access Lead for its Tanzania program. In this fixed‑term position you will shape the market access strategy that connects smallholder farmers to profitable value chains across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi‑year market access roadmap for priority value chains such as cashew and avocado.
• Assess investment, partnership, pilot or scale decisions based on commercial viability and farmer impact.
• Design commercially sound processing and aggregation models and choose the optimal delivery approach (direct or partner‑led).
• Identify, negotiate and manage performance of strategic commercial partners and third‑party processors.
• Lead a cross‑functional team delivering farmer‑facing and commercial workstreams, ensuring alignment between strategy, design and field execution.
• Translate country‑level goals into a focused portfolio that balances growth targets with risk management.

Required profile

• Proven strategic leadership experience in market systems or value‑chain development for agriculture.
• Ability to move fluidly between high‑level strategic planning and practical operational execution.
• Strong track record of managing partnerships and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Passion for improving smallholder farmer livelihoods at scale.
