Market Access Coordinator – Tanzania (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a Market Access Coordinator to lead farmer‑facing market activities across its Tanzanian regions. The role will support smallholder farmers in improving market participation, quality standards, and linkages to buyers, while contributing to the organization’s goal of increasing farmer incomes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate farmer‑facing market access activities in assigned regions, aligning with program strategy.
• Work with farmer groups, cooperatives and individual farmers to strengthen commercial readiness and identify barriers to market entry.
• Support aggregation, quality control and post‑harvest handling to improve market readiness.
• Facilitate linkages between farmers and buyers, processors or other off‑takers, ensuring supply matches market requirements for quality, timing and volume.
• Deliver training on quality standards, post‑harvest practices, collective marketing and basic business skills, with a focus on youth, women and underserved farmers.
• Provide ad‑hoc assistance to processing and value‑addition activities and coordinate field‑to‑processing supply chains.
• Collaborate with Market Access Specialist and cross‑functional teams (Extension, Logistics, MEL, Procurement, BizOps) to track progress, capture field insights and report to line management.
• Support temporary staff or data collectors, ensuring data quality and execution standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience coordinating agricultural or market‑access programs.
• Proven ability to work with smallholder farmers, farmer groups and cooperatives.
• Strong understanding of market requirements, quality standards and post‑harvest practices.
• Experience delivering training and facilitating inclusive participation of youth, women and underserved groups.
• Excellent coordination and reporting skills across multiple internal teams.
