Maintenance Training Supervisor

About the role

The Maintenance Training Supervisor leads the training function for maintenance personnel, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and competency standards. You will develop, deliver and continuously improve training programmes that support operational excellence and localisation objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Maintenance Training team to meet site and corporate safety, environmental and competency requirements.
• Ensure hazards, incidents and near‑misses are reported, investigated and corrective actions applied.
• Implement and maintain safe systems of work and environmental management practices.
• Drive continuous improvement of site training systems and processes.
• Achieve Safety KPIs such as Lost Time Injuries, Job Safety Observations and audit performance.
• Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and trainees, including graduates, apprentices and contractors.
• Develop, coordinate and deliver training for local, national and expatriate staff in line with the annual Site Training Plan.
• Manage the training budget and ensure resources align with the business plan.
• Liaise with managers and contractors to identify current and future training needs.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive or a related discipline.
• Formal qualification in Training and Assessment, Competency‑Based Training or Instructional Design.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance operations, training or workforce development.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets and drive safety culture.
