Maintenance Material Specialist – Spare Parts & Inventory Optimization

About the role

This position supports maintenance and operations readiness by reviewing spare parts stock, reconciling databases, and improving material master data within a large industrial project environment. The focus is on inventory optimisation, BOM alignment, and ensuring high‑quality SAP/CMMS data.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and optimise spare parts inventory to improve availability and reduce excess stock.
• Align Bills of Materials with actual warehouse stock and vendor documentation.
• Reconcile material master data in SAP MM/PM or equivalent CMMS, verifying codes, units of measure and equipment tags.
• Collaborate with maintenance, warehouse, supply‑chain and engineering teams to ensure consistent spare parts records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Maintenance Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in oil & gas, energy, mining or industrial maintenance materials management.
• Proven experience in spare parts strategy, stock classification and equipment criticality assessments.
• Strong coordination skills with maintenance, warehouse, reliability and operations readiness teams.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP MM, SAP PM or equivalent CMMS.
• Deep understanding of material master data, Bills of Materials and spare parts lists.
• Advanced Excel abilities for large‑database analysis, duplicate identification and reporting.
• Capability to review and validate stocking strategies, inventory levels and replenishment requirements.
• Experience in material data cleansing, harmonisation and traceability between BOMs, vendor data and warehouse records.
