Logistics Officer

About the role

The Logistics Officer will ensure effective and efficient logistics support for field programmes, covering procurement, fleet management, asset handling, and warehouse operations. This role is critical to maintaining compliance with organisational policies, donor regulations, and local laws while supporting safety and security.

Key responsibilities

• Process procurement requests in line with organisational and donor procedures, ensuring timely and transparent purchasing.
• Maintain supplier records, price lists, and support framework agreements with regular suppliers.
• Plan and track vehicle movements, coordinate with drivers, manage logbooks, monitor fuel consumption, and oversee maintenance schedules.
• Tag, record, and update all organisational assets in the asset register; conduct periodic physical verifications.
• Supervise receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, maintain accurate stock records, and ensure warehouse safety and security.
• Support office maintenance, utilities, repairs, and ensure availability of office supplies.
• Maintain comprehensive logistics documentation and prepare monthly logistics reports for the Logistics Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics, procurement, and supply chain management, preferably within a humanitarian or NGO context.
• Familiarity with donor regulations and organisational procurement policies.
• Ability to manage fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and fuel monitoring.
• Experience in asset tagging, inventory control, and physical verification processes.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills, with attention to detail.
