Logistics Handling Operations Operator (Tanzania)

About the role

The Logistics Handling Operations Operator will coordinate and manage the end‑to‑end shipment planning process in Tanzania. The role ensures timely collection of delivery orders, accurate documentation, and prompt payment of shipping line charges while maintaining effective communication with shipping lines and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate collection of shipping line charges, payments and delivery order applications to avoid cargo clearance delays.
• Prepare and verify required documentation for delivery order applications, including authorization letters, guarantee forms and any liner‑specific documents.
• Follow up on documentation such as Bill of Lading, drop‑off letters, payment receipts, inward interchange, and container deposit refunds.
• Collaborate with import, export, transit and project departments to ensure documents meet liner requirements before submission.
• Work closely with the transport team to confirm container drop‑offs are valid before returning empties to the shipping line depot.
• Submit all payment invoices and receipts to finance for reconciliation and billing.
