Language Specialist Annotator

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Language Specialist to annotate, review, and validate language data for advanced AI and Natural Language Processing systems. You will apply your linguistic expertise to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance across a variety of text and speech datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Annotate and review text, speech, or conversational datasets, labeling parts of speech, sentiment, intent, and syntax according to project guidelines.
• Ensure cultural and contextual appropriateness of annotated data.
• Develop and refine annotation guidelines to improve consistency.
• Conduct quality‑assurance checks and inter‑annotator agreement assessments.
• Provide feedback to optimise workflows and annotation standards.
• Support multilingual or domain‑specific annotation projects when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Languages, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in the target language(s).
• Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and language structure.
• Experience with linguistic annotation or data‑labeling projects.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts and AI workflows.
• Knowledge of corpus linguistics or discourse analysis.
• Ability to work on multilingual projects.
