Junior Accountant – Retail & Wholesale

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support the finance team of a retail & wholesale business in Dar es Salaam. The role involves handling daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, ensuring statutory compliance and assisting in the preparation of periodic financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices, receipts, payroll and statutory deductions (PAYE, SDL, NSSF, WCF, City Service Levy).
• Enter and reconcile financial data in Tally, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and support internal and external audits.
• Coordinate banking activities, including account setup, management and reconciliation.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory returns to relevant authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Less than 2 years of accounting or finance experience (internship or entry‑level accepted).
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, organizational skills, integrity and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Tally accounting software.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
