IT Support Technician

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited in the garment manufacturing industry is looking for a proactive and technically skilled IT Support Personnel to provide day-to-day support for hardware, software, networks and business systems. The successful candidate ensures smooth IT operations, timely issue resolution, proper system maintenance and continuous support to users in both office and production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, printers and network issues.
• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners and other IT equipment.
• Troubleshoot system, network and connectivity problems on time.
• Support users with ERP systems, email accounts and other business applications.
• Maintain computer systems, servers and network infrastructure, including routine updates, backups and antivirus management.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers, and maintain IT asset registers and documentation.
• Assist in setting up equipment for new employees and workstations, and support internet, CCTV, biometric and communication systems.
• Train staff on basic IT usage, cybersecurity awareness and system best practices, and prepare IT support reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Experience supporting ERP systems and business applications is an added advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Good understanding of computer hardware, software, networking and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows and basic networking.
• Knowledge of CCTV, biometric systems and printer maintenance is preferred.
