IT Support Officer I (On-site)

About the role

Axia Tanzania is seeking an IT Support Officer I to join its on‑site team in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on delivering first‑line technical assistance to internal users, ensuring that desktop computers, printers and related equipment operate smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for end‑users, responding promptly to tickets and service requests.
• Install, configure and maintain desktop computers, peripherals and printers.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues; escalate complex problems when needed.
• Monitor system performance and carry out routine maintenance tasks.
• Document incidents, resolutions and maintain accurate support records.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver user‑friendly and secure technology solutions.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of hands‑on technical support experience in an end‑user environment.
• Strong foundation in IT fundamentals, including basic networking, operating systems and hardware concepts.
• Experience with a Queue Management System or a similar ticketing platform.
• Relevant diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage time effectively.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work collaboratively on‑site.
