IT and Procurement Officer

About the role

The IT and Procurement Officer keeps COTACOF's Dar es Salaam office, warehouse and operational sites running on reliable technology while supporting core purchasing needs. The role blends roughly 70% IT support with 30% procurement responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line IT support for laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices and core business systems, handling access issues and escalating when needed.
• Maintain office and site connectivity (Wi‑Fi, routers, switches, VPN links) and coordinate system updates, licensing and security with Sucafina Group IT.
• Manage user onboarding/off‑boarding, equipment allocation and keep an accurate IT asset and software licence register.
• Perform routine IT housekeeping such as backups, antivirus updates and basic cybersecurity controls, including CCTV and access‑control system upkeep.
• Process purchase requisitions into purchase orders, source packaging, PPE and consumables, and maintain an approved supplier list for Tanzania.
• Monitor stock levels, support vendor documentation, and keep audit‑ready procurement records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 1 year of IT support experience; procurement exposure is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
• Strong interpersonal skills, high integrity and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Windows operating system troubleshooting.
• Network troubleshooting, Wi‑Fi, routers, switches and VPN configuration.
• Microsoft Office 365 administration.
• Basic server and network concepts.
• Cybersecurity awareness (backups, antivirus, access control).
• CCTV and electronic security system maintenance.
