Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Housekeeping Supervisor for our 20‑room, adults‑only, 5‑star boutique property in Zanzibar. You will lead a small, high‑performing housekeeping team, ensuring every guest room and public area meets flawless luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all 20 guest rooms before arrival to guarantee a zero‑defect standard.
• Conduct daily briefings, assign tasks and monitor performance of the housekeeping team.
• Train and coach staff on luxury SOPs, guest privacy protocols and service excellence.
• Manage linen, amenity and cleaning‑supply inventory, control waste and maintain par levels.
• Coordinate with Front Office and F&B for room turnarounds and special guest setups.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests.
• Report maintenance issues and ensure timely follow‑up.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of housekeeping experience in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel or luxury boutique property.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory or team‑leader role.
• Detail‑oriented, calm under pressure and strong time‑management abilities.
• Professional, guest‑facing demeanor with basic English proficiency.
• Swahili speaking or prior East‑Africa experience is a strong advantage.
