Head of Usage & Retention

About the role

The Head of Usage & Retention will lead Airtel Money’s customer acquisition, adoption and retention initiatives across Tanzania. You will be responsible for driving usage growth, designing pricing and promotional strategies, and delivering actionable business intelligence to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Airtel Money CLM, new customer acquisition and retention programs.
• Develop and execute pricing, promotional and adoption strategies for mobile money services.
• Create and maintain business intelligence tools, dashboards, and data warehouses.
• Collect, synthesize and analyse market, competitor and industry data to support strategic decisions.
• Produce regular performance reports for executive management, including quarterly board presentations.
• Lead data extraction, modelling, and reporting automation using SQL Server, Power Query and Power Pivot.
• Collaborate with BI partners, vendors and internal IT teams to ensure data consistency and quality.
• Provide insights to commercial, sales and product teams to improve market share and revenue growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field and an MBA.
• Minimum 7 years experience with service reporting tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence and Oracle Discoverer.
• At least 5 years hands‑on experience in software development, systems administration and data analytics.
• Strong knowledge of telecom pricing, mobile money operations and business intelligence.
