Head of People & Culture

About the role

The Head of People & Culture will lead WWF Tanzania’s human‑resources function, ensuring the organisation has a skilled, engaged and high‑performing workforce that delivers on its conservation strategy. Reporting to the Country Director and supervising the People & Culture Officer, this senior role combines strategic HR leadership with day‑to‑day people management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies and practices that meet the highest standards of People & Culture management.
• Oversee talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, and employee relations.
• Align HR strategy with WWF Tanzania’s conservation objectives and overall organisational goals.
• Manage compensation, benefits and payroll processes in compliance with local regulations.
• Lead and mentor the People & Culture Officer and any additional HR staff.
• Promote a diverse, inclusive and safe workplace culture.

Required profile

• Significant experience in senior HR leadership roles, preferably within non‑profit or international organisations.
• Proven ability to design and execute HR strategies that support mission‑driven goals.
• Strong understanding of Tanzanian labour law and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
