Head of Human Resources & Administration – Tanzania

About the role

The Head of Human Resources and Administration will lead HR strategy and operations for GardaWorld in Tanzania, partnering closely with the Country Director and the HR Director for Africa. This senior role ensures alignment of HR practices with corporate standards, legal requirements, and the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies that support GardaWorld’s strategic goals in Tanzania.
• Design, communicate, and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with corporate standards and local labour law.
• Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes, collaborating with department heads to fill vacancies with qualified talent.
• Manage external HR service providers, ensuring value‑for‑money and service quality.
• Ensure all staff contracts comply with company policy and Tanzanian labour legislation.
• Create competitive compensation and benefits structures and align rewards with performance.
• Drive a high‑performance culture through goal setting, bi‑annual reviews, and annual appraisals.
• Handle disciplinary actions and grievance processes fairly, transparently, and in compliance with the Employment Acts.
• Support legal cases by providing timely information to counsel when disputes become legal matters.
• Design career development and succession plans to build internal talent pipelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering strategic and operational HR initiatives in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian labour law and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business leaders and manage cross‑functional relationships.
• Experience managing external consultants and service providers.
• Track record of developing compensation, performance management, and talent development programs.
