Hass Avocado Sourcing Officer – Remote (Tanzania)

About the role

The client, an Indian agribusiness, is looking for a commercially‑driven Hass Avocado Sourcing Officer to manage and grow the supply of quality Hass avocados from farmers, aggregators and other suppliers. The role is remote, based in Tanzania, and will support the onboarding of an exporting partner.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, source and secure quality Hass avocados from individual farmers, farmer groups and aggregators.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with growers to ensure consistent supply and competitive pricing.
• Conduct quality assessments to verify maturity, size and compliance with export standards.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Monitor seasonal availability, market prices and supply trends to inform procurement decisions.
• Manage supplier contracts and ensure delivery of agreed volumes, quality and timelines.
• Coordinate with exporters to guarantee timely shipments and complete all required export documentation.
• Prepare regular sourcing and market reports highlighting supply, pricing, quality issues and recommendations.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in Hass avocado sourcing, procurement, quality control or agricultural supply‑chain management.
• Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Good understanding of avocado quality requirements and export standards.
• Experience in contract management and commercial negotiations.
• Strong market awareness and ability to spot sourcing opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to work independently, travel to farms and manage multiple suppliers.
