Grants Officer – Program Management

About the role

The Grants Officer will support EGPAF Tanzania’s programs by managing contracts and sub‑contracts, ensuring compliance with foundation and US Federal Government requirements, and facilitating effective financial and administrative oversight of grant recipients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments for partners at least twice a year and advise technical leaders on potential risks.
• Track and resolve outstanding compliance findings, maintain property registers, and support audit processes for sub‑grantees.
• Manage cash flow for grant recipients, submit monthly cash requests, monitor expenses, and provide financial analysis and variance analysis.
• Ensure active contracts for all recipients, facilitate pre‑award assessments, and advise on contract modifications and funding mechanisms.
• Provide technical assistance and capacity‑building trainings on USG, EGPAF, and donor regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Minimum three years’ experience in US Government‑funded grants/contracts administration.
• Project management experience and ability to work independently with strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout Tanzania and the region.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Financial analysis and cash‑flow management.
• Excellent written and oral communication, including editing and proofreading.
