Grants & Fundraising Coordinator Internship

About the role

WaterAid Tanzania is looking for a motivated intern to support its Grants & Fundraising team. You will assist in donor engagement, proposal drafting, and grant management, helping to secure resources for clean water, sanitation and hygiene projects across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Draft concept notes and full proposals for funding opportunities.
• Organise meetings, take minutes and prepare draft reports.
• Handle administrative and logistical tasks such as raising partner financial requests, organising workshops and preparing correspondence.
• Track reporting timelines for restricted grants and update individual calendars.
• Support fundraising travel by drafting Terms of Reference and requesting advance payments.
• Collaborate with other teams to deliver business development and fundraising initiatives.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding as directed by the Head of Business Development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social science, development studies, business administration, economics or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, confident in conversations with donors and external partners.
• Experience or interest in fundraising within the NGO sector.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and willingness to learn.
