Food & Beverage Manager – Zanzibar

About the role

The Food & Beverage Manager will oversee all food and beverage operations at a luxury 5‑star resort in Zanzibar, ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, hygiene and guest satisfaction. The role involves leading a multicultural team, managing budgets, and driving revenue growth while maintaining strict cost controls.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and control restaurants, bars, room service and banqueting functions.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and service standards.
• Recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service.
• Monitor budgets, control costs and maximise profitability.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Maintain strong customer relations and resolve feedback promptly.
• Collaborate with suppliers for timely procurement of quality products.
• Analyse sales trends to create innovative menus and promotions.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in Hospitality Management or related field (Diploma or Degree).
• At least five years of progressive experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a luxury resort.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and budgets in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of German or Italian is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with management software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP).
