Financial Controller – Dar es Salaam

About the role

The Financial Controller will build and lead the finance function for Mogo in Tanzania, reporting directly to the regional finance team. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for delivering accurate financial statements, cash‑flow management, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Establish robust accounting policies, procedures and reporting processes.
• Own monthly P&L, balance‑sheet and cash‑flow reporting, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support commercial and operational decisions.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities and other financial partners.
• Integrate Tanzania’s finance function into Eleving Group’s ecosystem.
• Lead initiatives to improve accounting efficiency and financial controls.
• Monitor compliance with local regulations and IFRS, proactively mitigating financial risks.

Required profile

• Higher education in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
• Relevant experience in finance, accounting, business administration or project management.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent English communication skills and a proactive, can‑do attitude.

Required skills

• Understanding of IFRS accounting principles (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow).
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with financial software and databases.
