Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will support the Regional Team in Kagera and Tabora, ensuring timely financial support for project implementation and compliance with donor and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare payment vouchers, verify invoices and expense reports, and process mobile banking payments.
• Record transactions and maintain daily account balances in QuickBooks.
• Maintain travel advance registers, review liquidations and ensure timely accountability.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations, VAT reporting and support month‑end closing.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and ensure compliance with finance policies.
• Serve as the finance focal point for field offices and provide guidance to field staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Finance Officer or similar role.
• Experience coordinating finance staff and supporting field operations.
• Knowledge of donor financial requirements and Tanzanian statutory obligations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
