Finance Manager – Tanzania

About the role

Educate! is looking for an enthusiastic, systems‑oriented Finance Manager to lead its finance function in Tanzania. The role will oversee financial controls, reporting and budgeting while supporting programme teams across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership of the finance function, ensuring implementation of controls, policies and procedures.
• Manage, coach and develop a finance team of three, acting as a business partner to implementation, operations and budget managers.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial and management reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts and variance analysis.
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable, revenue, expenses, fixed assets, bank reconciliations and month‑end closing using QuickBooks.
• Coordinate the preparation of audited financial statements and tax returns, ensuring compliance with TRA and NGO regulations.
• Collaborate with budget managers to maintain budget‑vs‑actual reports and provide training on financial discipline.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Commerce.
• Member of CPA (T) in good standing with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors.
• 3–5 years of finance and accounting experience, including audit and analysis.

Required skills

• QuickBooks accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and Tanzanian tax regulations.
