Executive Chef – Luxury Lodge

About the role

The Executive Chef will lead the culinary operations at Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge, delivering exceptional food experiences for guests and staff while upholding &Beyond’s high standards of sustainability and service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain overall food quality and safety standards for guest and staff meals.
• Implement and monitor kitchen standards, conducting regular visits to staff kitchens and canteens.
• Develop, train and mentor chefs and kitchen staff, fostering career progression.
• Manage administrative duties including staff files, scheduling, and hygiene compliance.
• Design seasonal menus aligned with guest preferences and on‑site produce.
• Ensure food presentation follows the lodge’s styling guide and brand identity.
• Oversee stock control, ordering, rotation and equipment maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with chefs, department heads, lodge manager and suppliers.
• Inspect all food leaving the kitchen and interact with guests to gather feedback and accommodate dietary needs.

Required profile

• Formal culinary qualifications.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience, preferably in a 5‑star operation.
• Ability to work under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
• Guest‑focused attitude, positive outlook and strong teamwork orientation.
• Commitment to continuous learning and high standards of service.
