ESG Manager

About the role

The ESG Manager will lead and coordinate environmental, social, and governance programmes across the organisation, reporting to the Country Crop Science and Value Chain Director. This role involves direct communication with customers on ESG matters and ensures that sustainability targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and collaborate with Sustainable Tobacco Program and Customer Programs to achieve ESG targets (STP, GAP, MVR, WASH, ALP, etc.).
• Lead ESG strategy and coordinate sustainability programmes.
• Oversee ESG governance, stakeholder engagement, and ESG systems, data, and reporting for both CSVC and processing operations.
• Ensure compliance, conduct audits, and monitor ESG performance.
• Perform ESG risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
• Develop ESG policies, SOPs, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead change‑management initiatives and oversee sustainability and forestry teams.
• Support capability development within the ESG function.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental or Social Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of ESG or sustainability experience.
• Experience in agriculture or manufacturing is desirable.
• Strong project‑management and data‑analysis abilities.
• Experience with ESG reporting and audits.
• High professionalism, integrity, and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Advanced Excel skills.
