Driver Supervisor

About the role

The Driver Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the entire fleet and driver team to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transportation operations. This role coordinates daily vehicle movements, monitors performance, and safeguards company assets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and manage all drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies, road safety regulations and operational requirements.
• Plan, assign and monitor daily vehicle schedules, routes and driver assignments for optimal fleet utilization.
• Maintain operational control over vehicles to prevent fuel theft, unauthorized use and other losses.
• Monitor fuel consumption, mileage reports and vehicle tracking systems, investigating irregularities and implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct regular vehicle, fuel and equipment inspections and enforce inspection procedures before, during and after trips.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and traffic violations, recommending disciplinary or corrective measures.
• Oversee driver performance, attendance and compliance, providing recommendations for rewards, training and performance improvement.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance, routine servicing, repairs and manage relationships with mechanics and service providers.
• Control procurement and usage of spare parts, tyres, batteries and lubricants.
• Ensure all vehicles meet legal, insurance and roadworthiness requirements and manage cross‑border transport compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising drivers and managing a fleet of vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations, road safety standards and vehicle inspection procedures.
• Ability to monitor and analyse fuel consumption, mileage and maintenance data.
• Experience handling incident investigations and reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills to plan schedules, coordinate maintenance and manage documentation.
