Data Management Officer

About the role

The Data Management Officer will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, supporting WHO’s health information management, monitoring and evaluation, and data‑driven decision‑making. The role ensures high‑quality health data are collected, analysed, and disseminated to guide emergency preparedness and programme implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse, produce and disseminate health data from WHO and partner organisations.
• Maintain and aggregate information on health indicators, emergency response, performance monitoring and contact databases.
• Ensure data quality, completeness, accuracy and timely reporting.
• Support monitoring and evaluation activities, develop analytical reports, dashboards and situation reports.
• Participate in basic geographic analysis and create maps, visualisations and user‑friendly data products.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of information management systems and databases.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in information management, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, or health information systems.
• Proven experience designing, managing and analysing databases and information systems.
• Experience with computer‑based and web‑based information management tools.
