Costing and Inventory Officer – Dar es Salaam

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Costing and Inventory Officer to join our finance team in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on accurate product costing, inventory control across multiple sites, and delivering timely financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Run the monthly costing cycle for the entity and ensure its accuracy.
• Track production movements, compare actual versus standard postings, and correct any discrepancies in coordination with the production team.
• Monitor inventory movements of raw material, packing material, and finished goods across multiple locations, preventing unnecessary stock in transit or virtual locations.
• Perform product costing, correctly identifying fixed and variable cost components.
• Lead and supervise monthly stock‑count exercises, reconcile, compile and post results in SAP.
• Issue periodic inventory and costing reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in costing and inventory management.
• Experience with medium or large multinational/local manufacturing companies operating across multiple sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP for inventory and costing processes.
• Strong inventory management and product costing expertise.
