Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist)

About the role

The Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist) ensures that user‑generated content on our platform complies with policies, legal standards, and community expectations. Working remotely, you will protect users by identifying and removing harmful material such as hate speech, harassment, misinformation, and graphic content.

Key responsibilities

• Review and act on reported text, images, and videos, focusing on high‑priority queues and edge cases.
• Monitor daily queues to spot emerging abuse patterns and promptly escalate to the Policy team.
• Provide feedback on moderation tool efficiency and suggest workflow improvements.
• Maintain a minimum 95% accuracy rate on moderation decisions.
• Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistent policy application.
• Investigate removal or suspension appeals and make fair reinstatement decisions.
• Serve as a designated responder during “red alert” events such as graphic live streams or coordinated harassment campaigns.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety, or community management for a major tech or social‑media platform.
• High emotional resilience and proven strategies for digital wellness when reviewing disturbing content.
• Deep understanding of regional cultural nuances and the ability to differentiate hate speech from protected political expression.
• Demonstrated ability to process 80‑100+ content items per hour while maintaining quality metrics.

Required skills

• Proficiency with moderation tools such as Hive, Besedo, and Salesforce.
• Strong command of Google Workspace.
