Construction Project Manager – Tanzania (Kenyan National)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead large‑scale projects in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The role will coordinate design, procurement, finance and construction teams to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain engineering standards, construction methodologies and technical procedures.
• Lead cross‑functional coordination with design, QS, procurement and finance departments.
• Review and sign off design deliverables, shop drawings, RFIs and value‑engineering proposals.
• Conduct constructability reviews, clash detection and temporary works design approvals.
• Guide the electrical team to meet project timelines and ensure early electrical drawing and BOQ planning.
• Drive adherence to baseline schedule, budget and scope; issue early warnings and recovery plans.
• Standardise WBS, progress measurement and earned‑value methods with the PMO.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, hand‑over documentation and bi‑weekly project status reports.
• Own the Quality Management Plan, monitor workmanship, material approvals and testing records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB) in Kenya.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) or Construction Management certification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of construction project supervision experience, preferably on the developer/client side.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors on large‑scale projects.
