About the role
The Communications Officer will support Education in Crisis (EiC) in promoting its mission to improve education in fragile contexts across Africa. Based in Arusha, Tanzania, the role is a stipend‑based volunteer position lasting 3–6 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication strategies to raise awareness of EiC’s programs and impact.
- Produce and edit content for newsletters, social media, website, and donor communications.
- Coordinate media outreach, including press releases and interviews.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and advocacy materials.
- Collaborate with program teams to gather stories and data for communication purposes.
Required profile
- Passion for education and humanitarian work in crisis‑affected settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a youth‑led team.
- Commitment to the principles of PSEA and child protection.
