Communication and Marketing Officer

About the role

The Communication and Marketing Officer will support Aga Khan Schools Tanzania in developing and executing internal and external communication strategies. This role involves creating compelling content, managing media relations, and promoting the school’s mission, programs, and achievements to diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a marketing plan to raise awareness of the school’s mission, programs, and activities.
• Design and execute communication strategies tailored to target audiences, including parents, staff, students, and alumni.
• Conduct market research to identify promotion and branding opportunities.
• Manage internal communications to ensure timely, accurate messaging across the school community.
• Prepare press releases, website content, speeches, reports, and other marketing materials.
• Coordinate the school newsletter, blog, and social‑media platforms for regular stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field.
• 3–4 years of relevant marketing experience, preferably in education.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive content.
• Ability to track analytics, evaluate campaign performance and provide data‑driven recommendations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Experience using digital platforms such as social media, email marketing tools and content management systems.
• Skills in graphic design, video editing and article writing.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic graphic tools.
• Analytics tracking and reporting capabilities.
