Commercial Relationship Manager

About the role

The Commercial Relationship Manager will be responsible for growing and managing a portfolio of high‑value customers for NBC, Tanzania's longest‑standing bank. The role combines sales, service, and risk oversight to deliver profitable growth while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Grow portfolio value by cross‑selling and up‑selling a range of banking products, meeting agreed targets.
• Identify sales and service opportunities, provide tailored solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Conduct annual and interim reviews of borrowing and non‑borrowing customers, updating relationship plans.
• Research, create, and follow up on target lists for new business opportunities.
• Maintain portfolio quality by applying risk‑management guidelines and monitoring triggers.
• Coach and develop Business Analysts, Relationship Officers, and Operational Bankers on a day‑to‑day basis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Arts, Economics or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum five years in a customer‑facing role, with at least two years in sales/service.
• Two years experience developing relationships with high‑value customers.
• Seven to ten years of general banking experience.
