Checker Operator – Warehouse & Production Support

About the role

The Checker Operator is responsible for safely loading, unloading, moving and stacking materials while maintaining accurate inventory records. The role supports production lines, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and contributes to uninterrupted warehouse operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑shift forklift inspections, operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment safely, and report any defects.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using handheld devices and warehouse management systems, perform daily stock counts and generate variance reports.
• Load and unload vehicles according to load plans, verify quantities and packaging integrity, and record all stock movements in the system.
• Supply raw materials and packaging components to production lines, remove finished goods, and support line continuity.
• Apply 5S, housekeeping, and safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Valid Forklift Operator License with 1‑2 years of forklift experience in manufacturing, warehouse, FMCG, logistics or distribution.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and overtime as needed.
• Physically fit for demanding operational tasks.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (including Double Handler forklift preferred).
• Basic computer literacy and use of handheld stock‑counting devices.
• Experience with warehouse management systems.
