Auto Electrician – Expatriate

About the role

The Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is looking for an experienced Auto Electrician to join the Engineering & Services team on an expatriate, fixed‑term basis. You will ensure that all underground mobile equipment is electrically sound, safe, and ready for production while supporting knowledge transfer to the national workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Report defects and equipment breakdowns to the Shift Supervisor and propose maintenance solutions.
• Ensure underground equipment is fit for use and coordinate mobile fleet management, maintenance, and skills transfer.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled repairs, adhering to company standards and safety procedures.
• Perform statutory testing and inspections on all electrical distribution systems.
• Investigate, diagnose, and repair auto‑electrical faults on mobile equipment.
• Plan future work, identify critical spare parts, and place orders according to procedure.
• Provide feedback on equipment performance and condition to the supervisor and co‑workers.

Required profile

• Relevant Trade Certificate in Auto Electrical / Automotive.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Auto Electrician working on mobile mining equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with equipment air‑conditioning systems and safe mechanical maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with Sandvik underground drills, loaders and trucks (e.g., DD321, DD421, DD422i, DL210, DL321, DL331, LH307, LH410, LH514, LH621i, TH54).
