Associate Business Advisor – Maternity Cover

About the role

TechnoServe is seeking an Associate Business Advisor to provide short‑term implementation support for its Tanzania Tier 2 portfolio while the regular Business Advisor is on maternity leave. The role ensures continuity of advisory services for Agri‑SMEs over a three‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in handover with the Business Advisor and Program Manager to understand each SME’s status and priorities.
• Support participating Agri‑SMEs through Module 1 follow‑up, advisory preparation, and early implementation activities.
• Assist in coordinating and delivering group workshops, one‑on‑one advisory sessions, and follow‑up calls.
• Maintain strong relationships with SMEs, track business‑level metrics, and contribute to program deliverables.
• Provide timely updates to the Program Manager on risks, progress, and any required adjustments.

Required profile

• Experience working with small‑holder farmers or agribusinesses in a development context.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
• Knowledge of business diagnostics and advisory processes.
• Basic financial management and investment‑readiness concepts.
