About the role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Zanzibar City, supporting the overall management of the restaurant’s daily operations. The role oversees service standards on the floor, coordinates with kitchen and bar teams, and ensures guests receive consistent, high‑quality food and beverage service.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee service standards on the restaurant floor and coordinate with kitchen and bar teams.
• Manage staff scheduling, training, performance monitoring, and assist with hiring and onboarding.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and resolve service issues promptly.
• Implement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and drive revenue.
• Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in the restaurant.
• Monitor stock levels and inventory, supporting budgeting and cost‑control processes.

Required profile

• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and experience resolving guest issues.
• Proven experience hiring, supervising, and training staff in a hospitality or restaurant environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests, team members, and management.
• Practical knowledge of food & beverage operations, menu understanding, service procedures, and hygiene standards.
• Previous experience in restaurant or hotel management, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Professional fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, or a related field is preferred.
