Agribusiness Livestock Relationship Manager

About the role

The RM Agribusiness Livestock Specialist will develop, manage and grow Equity Bank Tanzania’s livestock and related agribusiness portfolio, providing technical and commercial support to a wide range of actors across the livestock value chain. The role involves identifying financing opportunities, building sustainable customer pipelines, and delivering tailored financial solutions such as working capital, asset finance, loans, trade finance and digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic relationships with livestock farmers, cooperatives, dairy groups, ranchers, aggregators, processors, abattoirs, feed manufacturers, input suppliers and off‑takers.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of quality livestock and agribusiness customers and financing opportunities.
• Conduct customer and farm visits, business reviews, value‑chain assessments and relationship‑management activities.
• Understand customers’ production models, cash flows, financing needs and growth opportunities to design appropriate financial solutions.
• Cross‑sell deposits, loans, insurance, payments, digital banking and other relevant products.
• Develop deep technical knowledge of priority livestock value chains (dairy, beef, poultry, goats, sheep) and map them to identify viable financing opportunities.
• Facilitate linkages between producers, input suppliers, veterinary services, processors and financial services.
• Provide technical guidance on animal nutrition, breeding, health, bio‑security, climate‑smart practices and record‑keeping.
• Originate and prepare high‑quality credit proposals, assess repayment capacity and monitor portfolio risk.
• Mobilize deposits and promote transaction‑banking and digital payment solutions across the value chain.
• Organise farmer sensitisation forums on financial literacy, business planning and responsible borrowing.
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, research institutions, insurers and other ecosystem players.
