Accounting Officer

About the role

The Accounting Officer will support &Beyond’s finance function by ensuring accurate financial recording, managing expenditures, and safeguarding company assets. This role is central to maintaining robust internal controls and delivering timely financial information to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Authorize and allocate business expenditures, questioning necessity and market fairness.
• Record daily transactions in the PanStrat system or manual ledgers.
• Prepare supplier payment requests and assist with payroll preparation and reconciliations.
• Interpret and analyse management accounts, providing feedback to the Regional Finance Manager.
• Resolve general ledger queries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain and update stock sheets, conduct month‑end stock takes, and perform regular audits of shop systems.
• Drive monthly finance meetings, compile budgets and quarterly forecasts, and support year‑end audit activities.
• Monitor internal controls, conduct spot audits, and report any suspected breaches or asset losses.
• Manage petty cash, mobile wallets, and company bank accounts.
