Accountant – Mining Industry (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to support its mining client in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on accurate financial record‑keeping, statutory compliance, and efficient management of day‑to‑day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile books of accounts, including sales, purchases, expenses and bank transactions.
• Prepare statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, SDL, WHT) and ensure compliance with Tanzanian Revenue Authority deadlines.
• Assist with audit documentation and tax assessments.
• Monitor inventory accounting, reconcile physical stock, and support cost tracking for imports and landed cost allocation.
• Manage supplier payments, customer invoicing, receivable follow‑up and aging reports using Tally or similar software.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Tally accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax and statutory requirements.
