Accountant – Full‑time position in Mwanza

About the role

The Accountant will lead the financial strategy and day‑to‑day operations for CVPeople Tanzania’s trading, services and manufacturing activities in Mwanza. You will be responsible for establishing robust accounting policies, ensuring statutory compliance and delivering strategic financial insights to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts, prepare monthly management accounts, perform reconciliations and ensure correct general ledger postings.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements, submit tax returns on time and support TRA audits.
• Monitor receivables, payables, working capital and cash‑flow planning, flagging variances and inefficiencies.
• Utilise ERP systems (preferably Next ERP), coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants and banks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA preferred.
• 4‑5 years of accounting experience, including managerial responsibilities in trading, logistics, services or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of compliance, governance and audit requirements, with proven leadership and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, especially Next ERP.
• Ability to work with ERP platforms for financial reporting and control.
