Accountant – Construction Project Finance

About the role

The Accountant will join the Banking & Finance department of ITM Tanzania Limited in Dar es Salaam, focusing on construction project accounting, cost control and financial accuracy. The role ensures that all financial records comply with International Accounting Standards and supports business decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate daily transaction records in line with International Accounting Standards.
• Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations and manage petty‑cash and treasury operations.
• Prepare and file statutory returns and other regulatory submissions on time.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure policy compliance.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
• Assist in budget preparation, financial planning and variance analysis.
• Produce financial and management reports for decision‑making.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide timely financial information.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including AP, AR and payroll.
• Manage full‑cycle asset accounting and project‑based accounting for construction projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry.
