Senior Technical Advisor – Supply Chain

About the role

The Senior Technical Advisor – Supply Chain Management provides strategic leadership and technical guidance to ensure uninterrupted availability of HIV, TB and related health commodities across EGPAF‑supported regions in Tanzania. The role integrates supply‑chain considerations into all project interventions and advises senior leadership on critical logistics challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to secure commodity availability for ARVs, TB medicines, STI, Hepatitis, RTKs, CECAP and laboratory supplies.
• Design, roll out and monitor Differentiated Service Delivery models, focusing on Decentralized Drug Distribution and Community Pharmacy ART refill initiatives.
• Strengthen eLMIS and Pharmacy Module performance through timely reporting, data quality checks and stock‑status analysis.
• Support forecasting, quantification, inventory management, multi‑month dispensing and proactive redistribution to prevent stock‑outs.
• Collaborate with MSD, NASHCoP, NTLP and other partners to resolve last‑mile delivery challenges.
• Lead capacity‑building, mentorship and on‑the‑job training for staff and district health teams.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct root‑cause analyses of shortages and coordinate rapid response actions.
• Represent EGPAF in national and regional supply‑chain forums and technical working groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Public Health, Logistics or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 5–7 years progressive experience in pharmaceutical supply‑chain management, preferably within HIV/TB programs in Tanzania.
• Demonstrated experience with Medical Stores Department, eLMIS and national commodity logistics systems.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken) and willingness to travel frequently.
