Programme Policy Officer (Fixed-Term)

About the role

The Programme Policy Officer will support the development, implementation and monitoring of programme policies within the World Food Programme’s Programme Unit in Dar es Salaam. This fixed‑term position contributes to ensuring that WFP’s humanitarian interventions are aligned with strategic objectives and adhere to UN standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting, reviewing and updating programme policies and guidelines.
• Conduct policy analysis and provide recommendations to senior staff.
• Coordinate with country offices, partners and internal units to ensure policy coherence.
• Monitor compliance with policy requirements and prepare related reports.
• Support the preparation of briefing notes, technical documents and training materials.

Required profile

• University degree in public policy, international relations, development studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience in policy analysis or programme management within a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
