Programme Policy Officer – Climate Resilience

About the role

The Programme Policy Officer – Climate Resilience will support the design, management and delivery of climate‑resilience programmes for the World Food Programme in Dar es Salaam. Working under the Activity 7 Manager, the officer will provide project management, technical guidance and coordination to ensure timely implementation of interventions such as Food Assistance for Assets, capacity‑building and natural‑resource management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee climate‑resilience projects, including asset‑creation and natural‑resource management activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to implementing partners and internal teams.
• Coordinate programme activities across sectors and maintain knowledge‑management systems.
• Identify and develop partnerships that strengthen programme impact.
• Monitor progress, prepare reports and ensure compliance with WFP policies and donor requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in environmental science, agriculture, development studies or a related field.
• Experience in project management and implementation of climate‑resilience or food‑security programmes.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills, with ability to work in multicultural settings.
